De Ketelaere is a young and promising, left-footed central attacking midfielder who has the ability to also play out on the right wing and also as a center forward if needed. He has drawn big interest from top clubs so far this summer; AC Milan and Leeds United to name a few. He sits in the 97th percentile for xA (expected assists), 96th percentile in progressive passes, and the 95th percentile in pressures, compared to forwards across Europe's Big 5 Leagues. Sitting in the top 5 percentiles for each of these statistics is fascinating, as it indicates that not only does the player have the vision and technical quality to change the game, but he also has the engine to be a big annoyance to the opposition, and help his side win possession higher up the field. His defensive work rate is also highlighted in his 1.27 tackles per 90, for which he sits in the 91st percentile.  He would make for a brilliant number 10 in a team that gets its penetration from other attacking players on the dribble, as he is definitely one to keep more of an eye out for a pass more for his team (53rd percentile for dribbles completed). One statistic that may scare teams away from Charles is his npxG (non-penalty expected goals) which sits in the bottom 1 percentile. However, it shouldn't. He is clearly a player that plays dangerous progressive passes in for his teammates and less of a player that gets in on goal himself. To be 21 years of age and have so many areas that he excels in, Charles De Ketelaere is one to keep an eye on, wherever he ends up this summer.
